A man known for social satire and political opinion, Will Self is a writer in whose hands the English language is never wasted. In this event, as he read from his novel ‘Walking To Hollywood’, each word was emphasised to its full meaning. Talking with Rodge Glass, he expressed how humbled he feels to have any sense of notoriety at a time when not only increasing numbers of books are published each year but there is the emerging face of ever-developing online media. With books, the internet and TV all vying for our time, writing is the way he makes sense of the world. A highly-intelligent and gifted writer who carves social commentary out of every setting.
