I was quite intrigued by the concept of spaghetti-juggling, until I gave it some thought and realised you can’t juggle spaghetti. Three comedians turned up to honour Malcolm Hardee by having a glorified food fight. No real contest happened, the ground was covered in spaghetti, and there were quite a few chuckles, but this truly was some cheap laughter. Sure, spaghetti is funny, but isn’t there a better way to be silly and honour a legend than by having a small-scale pasta riot? Even adding some sauce would have made things more interesting, or at least colourful. Perhaps next year they could try with ravioli; maybe then more people would show up and some actual juggling would happen.
