Our crude but charismatic compère, Dangerfield, has a surprising variety of comedian friends from up and down the circuit – a number of whom you wouldn’t expect to be seen in the slightly dingy Base club. Nevertheless, our three special guests take us on a laddish hour of comedy perfectly suited to its dusky timeslot. Dangerfield is incredibly forward with his audience, picking out his favourites, unafraid to climb among us and make eyes at anyone he pleases. Not the most high-brow comedy out there, but a couple of truly funny and insightful guests bring a good spread of humour aside from mere shock. And with a conveniently placed bar, ‘Funt’ might be ideal to start off your night.
Base Nightclub, 6 – 27 Aug, 8.45pm (9.45pm), free, fpp81.
