ED2011 Comedy Review: How To Make Love For 72 Hours At A Time (Sex Guru Rico Suave)

Rico Sauve is a misinformed sex guru who gives advice. He uses PowerPoint to advise on ‘How to Make Love For 72 Hours at a Time’, also enlightening his audience with tips on “love, lust and life”. After a sluggish start, the show takes positive, albeit small, steps towards the end, concluding with audience-participation and a quiz. If you enjoy watching Avid Merrion on repeat and find your friend’s ‘Borat’ impression hilarious, you’ll enjoy this show. Rico’s dubious Spanish accent kept reverting to Scottish, which evoked the question of why Rico had an accent. The show’s idea is creative and has scope to be funny, but requires a rethink of Rico’s clichéd character.
