Six stand-up comics do seven minutes of their shows each, with the best ones being offered the chance to go to the Just For Laughs festivals in Montreal, Toronto and Chicago. It’s like a little selection-box of comedy, full of bite-sized chunks of mirth. With a changing line-up, you never quite know what you’re going to get, but on the night I went, it was a quality selection of up-and-comers, including such minor celebrities as Jimmy McGhie and Isy Suttie. With such a short space of time to work with, none of the comedians are able to really get into full flow, but there are plenty of laughs to be had. A very enjoyable hour.
Pleasance Dome, 16, 17, 23, 24 Aug, 11.00pm (12.00am), £7.00, fpp103.
