It really was an hour of laughs with Nathan Caton. His excellent story-telling skills keep the crowds easily entertained, and I have rarely seen a comedian make a bit of banter with his front row seem so natural and showcase his huge charisma. My only little, teeny, tiny, practically not-worth-mentioning complaint is that some of his gags about racial stereotyping, or how hip-hop has stupid lyrics, or his bit on ‘your mum’ jokes (basically it was a show about being black) were not quite as fresh as they could have been. But, like I said, it’s only a little, teeny, tiny, practically not-worth-mentioning complaint about an otherwise totally engaging and professional show.
Pleasance Courtyard, 6 – 28 Aug (not 16), 8.15pm (9.15pm), £8.00 – £12.00, fpp 124.
