With the first song, ‘Playing Politics’ have the audience cheering and clapping along to their extremely current political parody. Some are as recently written as the night before, such as ‘Premier Inn Blues’ sung to the tune of Johnny Cash’s ‘Folsom Prison Blues’, and others less current, with the ‘Wills And Kate Ballad’ which bears an uncanny resemblance to Pulp’s ‘Common People’. Not for a moment do the two seem outsized by the massive room, filling it entirely with their presence. Politically astute and ruthlessly funny, they put on a show that, as long as our politicians keep lying or slacking, will never get old; with that in mind, they promise to be a thriving talent for many years to come.
