ED2011 Comedy Review: The Axis Of Awesome

Back for their fourth year, Australian trio The Axis Of Awesome bring to the stage a collection of old and new songs. Stadium rock, boy-band pop, and many other genres are parodied to perfection. Featuring ‘What Would Jesus Do?’, an homage to KFC, and of course, THAT song from the Internet, the boys have carved themselves a very successful career internationally as they cross rock (and a few other genres) with comedy. The dynamic between the three members is played out brilliantly, with the classic ‘Benny is short’ jokes still reigning supreme. The only downside to the show? It should be longer. Dates are selling out, so don’t miss seeing them before they become superstars…

Gilded Balloon Teviot, 3 – 29 Aug (not 25), 9.30pm (10.30pm), £10.00 – £14.00, fpp42.
