ED2011 Comedy Review: Warning: May Contain Jokes (Hodder, Graves and Taylor / PBH’s Free Fringe)

This is a public service announcement brought to you by the ThreeWeeks board of humour control. Today we are pleased to reclassify ‘Warning: May Contain Jokes’ as ‘Does not contain jokes’. We have reached this decision following a rigorous testing procedure, in which the ‘comedians’ recited material to a room full or testers and evoked not a giggle. We can verify that the show in question contains no jokes, that the performers involved have not been in contact with jokes, and that the show has been created in a completely humourless environment. There is no danger of coming into contact with humour from seeing this show. We can confidently, and without contradiction, say this show is bereft of humour.

The bastard offspring of Eddie Izzard and Noel Fielding, Jackson Voorhaar is a charismatic and likeable comic. His set flits from music, which suffers from needing the jokes explained to...

  2. ED2011 Comedy Review: Three Man Roast (Holland, Howells and McKee/Laughing Horse Free Festival)

With a name like ‘Attention Deficit Let’s Go Ride Bikes!’, I went in expecting a high energy hour. Instead, the stand-up felt disjointed and at times lacked momentum. Ben Van...

a shambles of a review from a smartass nobody who doesn’t even attach their name.
Typical of the pitiful journalism which earns “3 weeks” its joke status in terms of credible reviewing.

Can’t speak for the reviewer themselves but it is the policy of Three Weeks to use only initials for their reviewers, so this has nothing to do with them being a “smartass”. And you’re certainly letting the “joke status” of three weeks get to you, aren’t you? A little research next time would help before you start splurging your anger everywhere.
