A cool sense of serenity can be found in this small multimedia exhibition. The result of a two day journey by canoe across the Isle of North Usit, the works are a dialogue between landscape, history and the language of its inhabitants. Minimal and austere, the beautiful canoe sculpture of wound wood and wrapped salmon skin hangs delicately at the centre of the space, and is the only colour, texture and warmth. Text works, comparatively, are intricate and intense, and printed place names make up a monochromatic landscape. For a record of such a physical experience, many of the printed works feel detached from sensation and nature, but nonetheless draw out the visual parallels between landscape, sea and language.
