Discover Islam Exhibition (Islam Festival Edinburgh)

By | Published on Wednesday 31 August 2011

For someone with a very limited knowledge of Islamic culture, this exhibition about discovering Islam was incredibly enlightening and interesting. Welcoming you with Moroccan mint tea and baklava, the tour guides of the mosque take you through an engaging and thorough discussion of the Islamic practices and culture. Combining a neatly organised exhibition to peruse with a more interactive tour guide system, this exhibition is definitely well worth a look if you wish to further your knowledge about a culture that is often misinterpreted. Another highlight is the very popular Mosque Kitchen which operates around the corner from the mosque, offering authentic and delicious Muslim cuisine for a fraction of the price you would expect.

Edinburgh Central Mosque, 6 – 16 Aug, times vary, free, fpp189.
