ED2011 Physical Review: Booking Dance Festival Showcase (Eight Dynamic Dance Companies From The USA In One Show)

New York is known as the city that never sleeps and it wants to add Dance Capital to its CV; subsequently, Booking Dance Festival is here to do just that. The dancers have emerged from in and around NYC and if the rest dance like this, I believe we may have a winner. Each company delivers their account of life in The Big Apple, through ballroom, tap, contemporary, and everything else in between. Regrettably, the story slips on occasion, and perhaps a slight shake-up in the middle is needed to avoid a contemporary only-dance-show feeling. Yet, all in all, with the sheer talent, captivating grace, unparalleled energy and brilliant choreography throughout, it is impossible to be bored.

Venue 150 at EICC, 17 – 21 Aug, 2.00pm (3.30pm), £3.00 – £12.00, fpp169.

  3. ED2011 Physical Review: In The Dust (2Faced Dance Company)

Eloquent, moving, and just downright cool: pretentious this show was not. I risk pretension here because to fully describe the quality of the dance, I’d need to empty a thesaurus...
