This was a show with an identity crisis; a contrived storyline about singers being lost in an Italian garden attempted to make sense of its confusing repertoire that leapt from Bizet to Broadway, but there was no real plot and the company would have been better off just calling it what it was – a variety show. The set was simple and made the most of the naturally beautiful venue, although the random projections of Italian gardens were as confusing and distracting as the silly non-story. There were three soloists who really did not have the vocal confidence to perform solo. However these were just frustrations, as Rosie Simpson, Essi Purhonen and, star of the show, Sophie Horrocks were worth tickets by themselves.
