The Proceedings Of That Night (Pleasance / Martin Miller / Simon Scullion)

By | Published on Wednesday 31 August 2011

This eerie horror show began with an empty stage and the clever use of projection onto a backdrop, ensuring that before the play had even begun, the recognisable tension of anticipation – so widely used in horror films – was building. When Martin Miller finally did enter, the audience was poised for the worst, and this suspension was maintained throughout. This short play was very well written and acted, and the audience got a great sense of the isolation of the Radio DJ alone in the studio on a dark and stormy night. His fantastic story-telling had the whole audience captivated from start to finish, resulting in a slightly stunned silence at the end of the performance.

Pleasance Courtyard, 3 – 21 Aug, 12.40pm (1.10pm), £6.00, fpp290.
