This is a bizarre piece of theatre; consisting of just over half an hour of disconnected skits, which utilise all manner of performance arts including theatre, music, beat poetry, multimedia, it’s like watching a particularly odd stream of consciousness. The variation in mood – dark at times, playful at others – is perhaps more welcome than the variation in quality. Parts of this show are ingenious, with a song examining John Peel’s true feelings on ‘Teenage Kicks’ being a real highlight. Other parts, unfortunately, just don’t work at all, jarring and coming across as too bizarre to take seriously. It’s completely original though, and quite a departure from many other Fringe shows – something for which Modal Roberts ought to be congratulated.
