The Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre – Chunky Woollen Nits (Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre)
By Katie Cunningham | Published on Friday 31 August 2012
This first attempt by the notoriously adult Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppets at doing a children’s show, is, a little surprisingly, a complete success. Keeping the cynical, dark toned edge, but losing some of the kid inappropriate material, the puppets were as entertaining as ever- especially for the parents, who are likely to get a good deal more of the jokes than their offspring. That’s not to say that the kids aren’t catered for; there’s a lot of audience interaction, which here means that the puppets are gently horrible to the children, which the older children, of course, love. Hopefully this won’t be the last time the Sock Puppets do a kids show; future generations deserve to see and hear their nasty charm.
