This Radio 4 recording was one of the more subdued of the Beeb’s Fringe events, but this did not detract from its entertainment value. Producer Robert Abel began by inviting the crowd members, who had been selected to read out questions, to the front of the auditorium, and soon Jay Rayner was making a fantastic job of making the audience feel part of the show, joking about the topics at hand. The content largely focused on Scottish cookery and was a fabulous insight into ways of using food that are seldom thought of. The panel, consisting of Henry Dimbleby, Angela Malik, Rachel McCormack and Sue Lawrence, bounced off each other with amusing comments and opinions in answer to audience questions and provided a relaxing audio experience.
