ED2012 Comedy Review: Dear Dan Brown… (Robert Finn / PBH’s Free Fringe)

ED2012 2/5 Reviews ED2012 Comedy Reviews

This is an unusual performance. Proceedings have an awkward, almost tense, air. It’s hard to tell if portions of the audience are sitting stony-faced and unmoved because they are not enjoying themselves, or because they are committed Dan Brown fans. Our host, Robert Finn, is writing a novel while writing letters to Brown. The simple enough idea is executed fairly well by Finn, who possesses a kind of manic, wild-eyed energy. Finn makes it clear that he is not a fan of ‘The Da Vinci Code’s author and spends much of the show assassinating his literary skills. While this is not laugh out loud funny, it might be worth attending to witness the rage of the Brown-ites.

Dragonfly, 5-25 Aug, 9.00pm.
