Failure And How To Achieve It (Max Fletcher and Nick Davies / PBH’s Free Fringe)

By | Published on Friday 31 August 2012

A sketch show involving a vast array of characters, ‘Failure And How To Achieve It’ is lively and entertaining. The two performers are extremely enthusiastic, both playing multiple characters, sometimes in the same scene; that’s a good and a bad thing, for at times the show becomes highly confusing, while the sketches seem to be chosen completely at random, and a few of the characters are nonsensical or just annoying. Things do come together in the end, however, and there are some really great sketches such as ‘Cloning Melvin From The South’ and ‘Alan The Love Struck Pirate’. They also make amusing use of video clips and pictures. If you’re game for a laugh and a bit of nonsense you’ll enjoy it.
