ED2012 Comedy Review: Fat Kitten vs The World (Fat Kitten Improv / PBH’s Free Fringe)

By | Published on Friday 31 August 2012

Should you be the type of person who, when given the opportunity, shouts out things like “banana”, “fish”, and “Ikea” as set-up suggestions for an improv comedy show, you may well lap up what Fat Kitten have to offer. Pitting the ‘established’ improv group Fat Kitten against other motley crews in the genre, the show is essentially a series of improv scenes, with clapping and yelping determining the winner of each round and ultimately the overall victors. Many of the show’s participants seemed to believe that simply being loud enough and throwing in plenty of non-sequiturs would compensate for being astonishingly predictable. Go with friends and offer some risqué scene suggestions to liven up proceedings.

The Voodoo Rooms, 16-25 Aug (not 22 Aug), 4.50pm.
