Gearóid Farrelly – Turbulence (Lisa Richards)
By Hannah Sweetnam | Published on Friday 31 August 2012
Sharp and ruthless, Gearóid irons out the creases in life with a judgemental yet hilarious attitude. Starting with a documentary style video clip, the ambitious comedian divulges information about his life and sets the audience up for the man who “aways wanted to be famous”. From sending a strongly worded letter of complaint to ‘Kinder Surprise’ and dressing as Batman for his Nativity, to public displays of affection and coming out to his family, Gearoid makes light of each of life’s trials and tribulations. Claiming to be terrible at banter, the comic actually seemed very much at ease when interacting with the audience. Although some jokes were, as Gearóid pointed out, “one percenters”, the comedian was a hit, and is definitely worth your time.
