ED2012 Comedy Review: Michael Winslow – Noizeyman (Underbelly Productions and Brett Vincent for GetComedy.com)

By | Published on Friday 31 August 2012

The vocal capacities of this man are beyond belief. Creating guitar noises so pure I can’t even get my Les Paul copy to do them, he does jaw-dropping impressions of Hendrix and Led Zeppelin, and it is these that have the audience eating out of his hand. Unfortunately, due to the show’s timing and location, the volume levels are cracked up to full to drown out the sound of merry pub-goers outside and my, it is heart-thumpingly loud. One especially ear-breaking section was the ‘Star Wars’ fight scene which, though impressive, suffered amid this wall of volume. Winslow really is a noizeyman but it may be mostly down to the sound technician.

Underbelly Bristo Square, 1-27 Aug, 9.40pm.
