ED2012 Comedy Review: Rhys Darby – This Way To The Spaceship (Bound And Gagged Comedy)

Rhys Darby is perhaps best known as Murray from ‘Flight of the Conchords’. His stand-up show consists of him telling the audience about his life, interspersed with him talking to ‘Al’, a computer on a spaceship that Rhys has woken up on after the world has ended. Rhys is instantly likeable, he has the audience laughing from the first line, and gives an energetic performance, the highlight of which sees him recreate the dance moves he used to use in nightclubs in his home town. The result is hilarious. The combination of Rhys’ physicality, his quick wit, and his self-deprecating nature make this show an absolute joy to watch. A must see.

Pleasance Courtyard, 1-27 Aug (not 8, 14), 8.00pm.
