Stay At Home Dad (Eden Rivers)

By | Published on Friday 31 August 2012

Comedian Eden Rivers looks at what happens when the traditional gender roles are reversed and it becomes Dad doing the school run and making up the packed lunches. Rivers has a great presence on stage, and engages the audience with a strong comedic skill. However, the show’s narrative felt too loose and seemed rather disjointed. Furthermore, he relied too heavily on his notepad, which interrupted the flow of the comedy. If these minor things were ironed out, Rivers might connect his observations more coherently and help him produce a solid routine. There is potential here, if only he can find some time away from the kids to work at it.
