ED2012 4/5 Reviews ED2012 Comedy Reviews
The Comedy Zone (Avalon Promotions)
By Emma Obank | Published on Friday 24 August 2012
Now in its twenty-second year, ‘The Comedy Zone’ is the longest running comedy showcase at the Fringe, continuing to offer the stage to four of the hottest up-and-coming comedians on the circuit. The compère for the evening, WitTank’s loveable Kieran Boyd, had the audience in his pocket; politely taking the piss, as well as creating a natural and relaxed atmosphere; adding a few witty observations here and there. The ingenious Ahir Shah, lively Hayley Ellis and charming Mark Smith then took to the stage, each offering a different innovative style of humour. ‘The Comedy Zone’ offers something for each comedy palate. So if you’re looking for an evening of great comedy, this is your pint of beer.
