In this modern adaptation of William Shakespeare’s ‘Measure for Measure’, a nun struggles to find a way to clear her brother’s name, facing the moral challenges that come with it. The script incorporates a mixture of Shakespeare’s original lines and present-day jargon. A few aspects let this production down: the singing could be more in-tune, and louder; the story is unclear because of the low volume. Meanwhile, the on-stage movement lacks the energy needed for a musical and the actors apparently love lying on tables. However, the lead actress has a wonderful singing voice, and it is clear that the cast has worked hard for their Edinburgh Fringe show; they are a young and eager group.
