ED2012 Physical Review: Strip Search (Homo Promos)

ED2012 3/5 Reviews ED2012 Physical Reviews

Hot striptease, a perfect body – and private revelations. ‘Strip Search’ is a very well-staged production with an accomplished actor who easily switches between the raunchily lit arena of a strip bar and the intimacy of telling a vulnerable life story: black, brought up in a deprived area by uncaring parents, selling his body from a young age to get money for gambling machines. Prison, army, struggling with society and state. The story touches on cliché loaded circumstances, but it moves forward to the here and now – stripping in front of an audience because this is what brings in the money. The body is only for show, not for love. ‘Strip Search’ is mentally moving rather than physically arousing.
