Amy Abler – PianoDivalicious (PianoDivalicious Productions)

By | Published on Tuesday 27 August 2013

Amy Abler combines extremely honed musical skills with a heap of attitude in her positively gorgeous show ‘PianoDivalicious’. It’s full of humour, personality and is a great testament to how music can be a wonderful and powerful storyteller. Abler is supremely talented, and commands her audiences throughout this musical autobiography. She cheekily dances in her seat to every phrase and the show never lets up, not even for a minute. She dashed through an hour of covers from more genres than you can imagine – from Mozart to Nelly Furtado, with everything from The Beatles to Bill Withers in between. Moulding every medley seamlessly and artfully, there was a song for everybody, and for every emotion. Superbly crafted and truly poignant at times.

The Jazz Bar, until 21 Aug (not 20), 4.00pm.
