I Am Happy! (Ishi Khan-Jackson)

By | Published on Tuesday 27 August 2013

In this hour long set, Ishi Khan-Jackson took us through all the events in her life that have led to her feeling satisfied with her existence. The moral of the story, if there was one, was that dancing is the key to fulfilment. Hardly groundbreaking nor especially innovative, but it was entertaining to hear her various anecdotes told with good humour. From stories of growing up in Africa, to a Grandmother obsessed with Birmingham, Khan-Jackson was a fairly good, engaging raconteur. There were some incongruous moments, such as a story of a ploy to join the BNP that didn’t lead anywhere. Whilst none of the material was especially innovative, some of her words were life-affirming.

Le Monde, until 18 Aug, 4.00pm.
