The Bravery Test (Laughing Horse / Angus Dunican)
By Christopher Spring | Published on Friday 30 August 2013
With a terrific storytelling style, a genuine comedic awareness and a beautifully poignant narrative, this show will only get better and better. Angus Dunican emerged at the start, establishing that this was only the second time he had performed this material. His nervous excitement, although endearing, did make him rush a little, as he seemed to check which stories and jokes got the best reception. The show is about family and childhood, and in particular the relationship between himself and his brother. It’s a highly recognisable story of hero-worship and growing up, and one that most can probably relate too. ‘The Bravery Test’ is something I’d love to come and see again because, once the cobwebs are shook off, I think this will be a great show.
Laughing Horse @ Edinburgh City Football Club, until 25 Aug, 12.30pm.
