Tristan Garrel Cambridge (Tristan Garrel Cambridge)

By | Published on Friday 16 August 2013

A slideshow with a voiceover – nothing more, nothing less. The show began proclaiming that everything written in the programme blurb was irrelevant, thus initiating a convoluted plot-line that really failed to impress. The content, on paper, had potential; a satirical take on current affairs, mocking figures of the law, religion and politics. The reality was disappointing. Not only unbearably heavy and difficult to follow but also unconcerned with quality. With no stage presence to keep the viewer captivated the delivery of the voice-over was absolutely integral, and sadly, it too was average at best. Political and absurdist, perhaps, but the occasional glimpse of humour did not do enough to justify calling Tristan Garrel Cambridge a ‘comedian’.

Laughing Horse @ The Free Sisters, until 17 Aug, 12.00pm.
