The Pear Tree Live Performance Stage (Pear Tree House Partnership)
By James Hampson | Published on Sunday 18 August 2013
As we’re having uncommonly clement weather this year, sitting in a beer garden listening to music seems a reasonable way to spend one’s afternoon; and The Pear Tree are happy to oblige, presenting a daily line-up of acoustic bands from lunch until teatime. Sadly, this sounds better in practice than in reality. After considerable technical difficulties, Damaged Goods take to the stage and perform a series of cover versions, ranging from Little Richard to Johnny Cash. We’re then treated to Pest and their very own warped and gloopy brand of blues. It’s all distinctly OK: an OK pub, and OK music. Suitable for those with a bit of spare time, but it’s likely you’ll enjoy a sunny pint more than the background music.
The Pear Tree, until 25 Aug, 12.00pm.
