Interrupted (Teatro En Vilo)

By | Published on Sunday 11 August 2013

‘Interrupted’ explores one woman’s personal struggle with a mental breakdown, to both hilarious and heart-wrenching effect. The four women from Teatro En Vilo create a beautiful vision of despair, through physical theatre and an exceptional use of music. Controlling this themselves via an iPod onstage allowed for absolutely perfect timing. The range of characters was simply outstanding and the actors’ ability to slip into these characters with such ease was truly exciting to watch. Some comedy moments did not quite reach their full potential, but these were quickly forgotten through other clever moments, such as using the actors as props and as a visualisation of the main character’s madness. A brave, inspiring and emotion-filled show.

Assembly Checkpoint, until 26 Aug (not 12), 12.20pm.
