Oxygen – Colours (New Works, Vincent Hantam, Artist In Residence, University Of Edinburgh)

By | Published on Tuesday 27 August 2013

‘Oxygen – Colours’ is a dance and live music show consisting of three performances. The first was a piece of classical music composed by Derek Williams – it was moving, expressive and filled the room, despite coming from a small orchestra. The dancers arrived for the second piece, with wonderful music by Reid School of Music composition students. Most of it was good, though it became obvious that the dancers were of different abilities, causing the dance to become out of time. However, it was exciting to see them perform to live music, and their effort is not to be underestimated. Finishing with an upbeat tango, it was a lively and uplifting ending.

Paterson’s Land, until 17 Aug, times vary.
