Refugees Of The Septic Heart (Tom Dale Company)

By | Published on Saturday 24 August 2013

Breathtaking, enveloping visuals and live projection showing a world growing, changing and bursting in front of your eyes forms the multimedia setting for ‘Refugees Of The Septic Heart’. Set to a dark and beautiful soundtrack provided by electronica producer Shackleton, six impressive dancers flit and fall between the light, sound and all-encompassing graphics as the world evolves and ruptures around them; from a pre-societal state, to a frantic urban sprawl, before a final explosive and uncertain future. Never getting lost in the overwhelming visuals, the performers create between them subtle moments of stillness, slick, fluid movement and fantastic flashes of character in a multifaceted piece that synergises physical expression, visuals and music together beautifully. A wonderful watch, and highly recommended.

Dance Base, until 26 Aug, 6.00pm.
