Captain Morgan And The Sands Of Time (Tap Tap Theater / PBH’s Free Fringe)
By Ivan Kroupin | Published on Thursday 22 August 2013
Combine the humour of ‘Monty Python’ with the entire cast of every ‘Pirates of the Carribean’ film and compress the lot into a two-man show and you would have something like ‘Sands Of Time’. Only calmer. And less crowded. ‘Sands of Time’ is an epic, dizzyingly hilarious tale told by one pair of actors starring in several dozen roles. Joe Newton and Ben Behrens are comically and technically fantastic; cycling through parts as pirates, captains, crew-members and the occasional sea god. The performance had the audience rolling in their seats. And in the aisles. And all over the floor of the tiny, packed room. Don’t risk missing out on this spectacular bit of fun: Arrrrive early.
The Fiddler’s Elbow, until 24 Aug, 8.15pm.
