Dear Friend (Apt 502)

‘Dear Friend’ is a touching and moving portrayal of one’s inner thoughts, how our busy lives can take over, and the search for what our lives really mean. Director and writer Bailey Nassetta’s original work stems from her own private journal entries, and this form of constant flowing thoughts and ideas is expressed excellently in the play. The play follows the stories of three characters, A and his friend B, and B’s new love interest, C, who comes between the pair. Set in a public park, the three characters explore limitations in our life and address them through song, voice and movement. Although the story was sometimes disjointed and confusing, this didn’t detract from its powerful and thought-provoking nature.
