Power Games (Altered Skin)
By Claudia Marinaro | Published on Friday 30 August 2013
Deepak is a banker in the City at the peak of his career, who fiercely powers his way through finance and his marriage, only to lose everything. Deepak thinks he’s in control of his life, but the truth is that by voting different options (as on a TV quiz/reality show), the audience is apparently given the power to determine what happens to him. ‘Power Games’ is an unsettling show that blends physical theatre, projections and contemporary and South-East Asian dance to explore different types of power dynamics, including those between audience and narrative. With its engaging choreography and convincing performances, this show uses multimedia in a rather innovative way and leaves us all with a few unanswered questions.
Zoo, until 24 Aug (not 18), 6.45 pm.
