Tender, and evocative of a childhood world that’s uncomfortably real, this is storytelling at its most dynamic. As a boy struggling to come to terms with life, Luke Adamson performs this one man show with a depth of emotion and immersion into his childlike character that leaves us hanging on his every word, completely drawn into his world. You can taste the sweet tea, you can feel the washing up water, the family is as ordinary and familiar as your own. The story rises in intensity, building to a crescendo that left me feeling as though I’d been stabbed through the heart. A script that will worm its way into your brain and will stay there for a long time to come.
