George Galloway’s Political Football (Fair Pley / The Assembly Rooms)

By | Published on Friday 16 August 2013

George Galloway reiterated a number of stories from his personal experience and sharply criticised certain problematic aspects in the Scottish football scene. This attempt was meant to point out the chief aspects that are, in his opinion, currently preventing the teams from performing at their best. The most prominent factors include immigration, the low political consciousness of the fans and the influence of the media. In what began as a dialogue with Graham Spiers, Galloway maintained persistent contact with the audience, moving on to a question and answer session. Several humorous moments, although mildly racist, spiced up the atmosphere at times, making it a diverting show for all the football devotees present.

The Assembly Rooms, until 2 Aug, 12.30pm.
