Just Conversations (Just Festival)
By Iris Ordean | Published on Thursday 22 August 2013
Debating a different topic every time, a series of conversations at Just Festival cover a range of subjects, from rape to slavery, immigration and domestic abuse. Today’s discussion centred on sectarianism and the variety of implications it brings. The members of the Advisory Group on Tackling Sectarianism in Scotland addressed what is unfortunately remains a serious issue in Scottish society today. Supported by academic research, as well as facts collected from practice, the four speakers maintained a professional appearance and paid great attention to what the public had to say. A good portion was of the talk was spent in meaningful dialogue, stimulated by the continuous flow of questions from the audience. An informing session for professionals and laymen alike.
Just Festival at St John’s, until 26 Aug (not 8, 15), times vary.
