The New Age Labrador (Dramatic Cause)

Shaun Shears spends fifty minutes trying to deconstruct what it is to be an artist, through anecdotes from his life. The problem, however, is that most of them are unremarkable. He certainly has strong enough charisma to hold the audience’s attention, especially through his songs, which were sung with heartfelt, profound lyrics. But, whilst the struggles Shears has faced in life are indeed interesting, the problem lies in the fact that he is by no means a qualified musician. It was refreshing to hear his authority on the subject, but there wasn’t enough evidence to suggest that he’s a figure to take advice from, especially considering the low-key nature of the show. Moving at times, but lacking gravitas.
