You know the Edinburgh Festival is getting very close when we start landing in your inboxes once again, don’t you?

According to the Fringe Society’s Twitter feed, as I write this there are just 53 days until the Fringe kicks off, and I’ll take their word for it. Not least because, if there’s only 53 days until the Fringe kicks off, I’ve not got the time to be counting days in my diary. And don’t forget, many Fringe venues start previewing on Wednesday 31 Jul, two days before the official start of the festival. Oh, and the Edinburgh Art Festival kicks off on Thursday 1 Aug. Busy busy.

So, this is the very first ThreeWeeks Update email of 2013. It’s mainly to tell you all what we will be up to this summer (at our 18th festival!), how we can help you promote your shows, and to offer some advice on how to get coverage.

We’ll be landing in the inboxes of anyone and everyone performing, working or ticket-buying at the Edinburgh Festival this year, on a semi-regular basis between now and kick-off in 53 days time, and then on a more regular basis during the festivities themselves. If you have any friends, allies, colleagues, contemporaries or occasional acquaintances who would also like to receive these updates, tell them to go to www.threeweeksedinburgh.com/subscribe and sign up. It’s free!

We’ll also be posting regular updates to the ThreeWeeks website too – www.threeweeksedinburgh.com – which will start to provide early coverage of Festival 2013 over the next few weeks before our big fat Preview Guide goes live in mid-July.

That preview guide will also be available – in print form – in the first of our ThreeWeeks magazines for 2013, which will be going through the doors of thousands of Edinburgh homes in late July, and will then be available for pick-up at all key venues during Week Zero. As always, once the Festival is under way we’ll publish three more editions of the ThreeWeeks magazine, plus the daily reviews sheet, constant online coverage and the ThreeWeeks podcast.

Regular updates on all that will appear on Twitter and Facebook, so do follow us on your social network of choice.
