FRINGE FORMS>>

Once you have decided what to perform, and you have negotiated a slot at a venue, you need to fill in your Fringe Forms. This is when you register with the Fringe Society properly, and pay £350 for the privilege.

If you have been receiving Fringe Society mailings you will receive a set of Fringe forms in early March (details on registering for Fringe Society mailings in the Fringe Society section) – otherwise you will have to contact the Fringe Society and ask them to send them to you.

The Fringe Forms can be quite daunting the first time you fill them in – but don’t lose too much sleep over them. The only really important bit is the blurb you are planning on putting in the Fringe Programme. You are given just 40 words to sell your show so you should give this some thought before you fill your forms in. For tips on your blurb check the Getting Noticed section.

Some venues will want to see your completed forms before you submit them to the Fringe Society. This is especially so for venues who operate a box office split system because they might want the Fringe Society to pass on any revenues from tickets sold in the Fringe Society box office directly to them, so they can take out their cut before they pass on the rest to you.

The key deadline for submitting your Fringe forms is the last week in April because that is the deadline for inclusion in the Fringe Programme – so if at all possible you should have your forms in the hands of the Fringe Society before that deadline. If you get them in before an early bird deadline (normally two weeks before the main deadline) you benefit from an early bird discount, around £100, so well worth being efficient for!
