ARRIVING IN EDINBURGH>>

Edinburgh is a small compact city that it is easy to get to know. That said, when you first arrive, like any city, it can seem strange and complicated. For this reason if your cast and crew are travelling separately it is good if you can have an organised crew member in Edinburgh first to meet everyone and take them to their accommodation.

Make sure your cast and crew have a clear schedule detailing where they need to be and when, during their first few days in the City (get-in times etc) - and that everyone has everybody else's mobile numbers - so everyone can stay in touch with everyone else. Many of the flats people rent over the Festival do not have phones in them so mobile phones become pretty much essential for staying in touch.

Your stage manager in particular needs to know everybody's whereabouts and phone numbers - just in case an actor goes missing ten minutes before the show!
