Despite all the stress and worries, you will find you arrive at the end of your Edinburgh Festival run a lot quicker that you realise. Some things to think about at the end of your run:
- Your venue will probably want you to 'get out' straight after your last performance, which means removing all your set, props and costumes as soon as the last curtain goes down. This is especially true if you close on the same day as the venue because the chances are your theatre space will be taken down at the end of the day, so you need to get all your belongings out of the way. So make sure your stage crew and, if required, van driver are on hand.
- Make sure you're clear on what time you need to be out of your accommodation, and how clean and tidy you need to leave it. You might not be getting all that deposit back if you're not careful!
- You will probably have to wait until October to get your box office takings though some smaller venues can arrange payment much quicker. You will get a box office payment from both the Fringe Society and your venue, unless you're on a box office split in which case the chances are the Fringe Society will send your takings to your venue who will take their share and then send you one cheque with all of your box office takings.
- The Fringe Society will automatically add you on to the next year's Fringe Society mailing list no need to pay the £10/20 though you should let them know if there is any change of address.
