It's the ThreeWeeks Editors' Awards
Brighton 08 index - Preview - Interviews - eDaily + Reviews - About the Brighton Festival

Every year, at both the Brighton and Edinburgh festivals, the ThreeWeeks editors – that’s us – present our very own awards. There are about 70,000 award ceremonies in this world, too many if you ask us, but we like to think ours are a little bit different. And we would say that, we know, but they really are.

At each Brighton and Edinburgh festival we simply pick out the shows or performers or venues or producers or writers or artists or people or whatever (we’ve awarded a publicity campaign before now) that we think, in our most humble (well not that humble) of opinion, made that year’s Festival just a little bit extra special.

We’re not constrained by categories or any of that nonsense; we simply want to pick out the things that got us, or our review team, especially excited, and to let the people behind those things know that there show or venture stood out to us as something worthy of a very honourable mention.

Some winners of Editors’ Awards at last year’s Brighton and Edinburgh festivals are performing at the Brighton Fringe, and needless to say, they come extra recommended. And here are interviews with three of them. All highly recommended. They are, after all, award winning. Enjoy.

What would the Victorians say? - The Penny Dreadfuls here
Acoustic delights, mechanical tables and some fine Nosh - Bom-Banes here
An incredible story - Psyche & Eros here
