You know the Edinburgh Festival is getting very close when we start landing in your inboxes once again, don't you?

According to the Fringe Society's Twitter feed, it's just 53 days until the Fringe kicks off, and I'll take their word for it. Not least because, if there's only 53 days until the Fringe kicks off, I've not got the time to be counting days in my diary. And don't forget, many Fringe venues start previewing on Wednesday 31 Jul, two days before the official start of the festival. Oh, and the Edinburgh Art Festival kicks off on Thursday 1 Aug. Busy busy.

So, this is the very first ThreeWeeks Update email of 2013. It's mainly to tell you all what we will be up to this summer (at our 18th festival!), how we can help you promote your shows, and to offer some advice on how to get coverage.

We'll be landing in the inboxes of anyone and everyone performing, working or ticket-buying at the Edinburgh Festival this year, on a semi-regular basis between now and kick-off in 53 days time, and then on a more regular basis during the festivities themselves. If you have any friends, allies, colleagues, contemporaries or occasional acquaintances who would also like to receive these updates, tell them to go to www.threeweeks.co.uk/subscribe and sign up. It's free!

We'll also be posting regular updates to the ThreeWeeks website too - www.threeweeks.co.uk - which will start to provide early coverage of Festival 2013 over the next few weeks before our big fat Preview Guide goes live in mid-July.

That preview guide will also be available - in print form - in the first of our ThreeWeeks magazines for 2013, which will be going through the doors of thousands of Edinburgh homes in late July, and will then be available for pick-up at all key venues during Week Zero. As always, once the Festival is under way we'll publish three more editions of the ThreeWeeks magazine, plus the daily reviews sheet, constant online coverage and the ThreeWeeks podcast.

Regular updates on all that will appear on Twitter and Facebook, so do follow us on your social network of choice.

Caro Moses, Co-Editor, ThreeWeeks

Through its weekly magazine, daily reviews sheet and prolific website, ThreeWeeks provides some of the most comprehensive coverage of the Edinburgh Festival. Every summer hundreds of thousands of festival-goers rely on ThreeWeeks to provide a guide to what's on offer, what performers are creating a buzz, and what shows are worth seeing.

You can get your show in front of that audience by advertising in one of our media. Ad bookings are now being taken for 2013, with a 10% discount if bookings and payments are made before the end of June. Check www.threeweeks.co.uk/advertising for more details and rates, then email TW.advertising@unlimitedmedia.co.uk or call 0131 516 8842 to discuss a package that suits your needs.

Following a successful pilot in 2012, the preview edition of ThreeWeeks - which comes out in late July - will be delivered directly to thousands of homes in central Edinburgh, hitting those all important local ticket-buyers, whose custom is especially important at the outset of the Fringe. The same edition will also be stocked at all key Festival venues at the start of August. Get your bookings in early to ensure a placing in this brilliant promotional platform - ads are available from as little as £200. Email TW.advertising@unlimitedmedia.co.uk or call 0131 516 8842 to book.

Yes, ThreeWeeks has ad packages for shows on even the tightest budgets. For £99 - INCLUDING VAT - you can get a classified ad in every weekly edition of ThreeWeeks. You get to submit both a photo and blurb. You can also pick and choose individual issues at £30 per edition. For more info, and to buy your ads right now online, go to www.threeweeks.co.uk/classifiedbookings. There is limited space in our classifieds section, so book early to avoid disappointment.
So yes, the ThreeWeeks team is now very much focused on this year's festival programme. Planning for our preview coverage takes place this month, so it is definitely worth sending all and any information about your show to TW.edinburgh@unlimitedmedia.co.uk asap.

There is no need to mail hard copies or to call the office, we will be browsing through everything we receive in that email account. For those of you based in London, you don't need to wait until the Edinburgh Festival to get cultural tips and recommendations from the TW team. Since last year's festival we have launched a new sister website to ThreeWeeks called ThisWeek London, providing daily cultural tips for the English capital, plus regular interviews with some of our favourite performers, writers and directors.

Whether you are into cabaret, comedy, dance, film, music, musicals, spoken word, theatre or visual art, we have regular tips for you. Check us out online, or follow us on Twitter and Facebook for a daily batch of TW tips. Plus sign up now for the ThisWeek London weekly e-bulletin, launching later this year!
