Welcome to the first ThreeWeeks Daily email for 2014! Two weeks from today the final licks of paint will be drying, seating will be shifted into place, sound systems given one last check, and the annual world shortage of gaffer tape will begin. Because two weeks today the first Edinburgh Fringe venues open for Festival 2014. Are you ready to go?
Well, to help you on your way, from today we'll be publishing daily news, previews, interviews and exclusive columns on the ThreeWeeks website, helping you navigate the thousands of shows on offer this year, and introducing some of our favourite people and performers. We'll let you know about the latest content here in your inbox each morning.
But before we get going with edition one, three important messages...
01: Get your show in front of tens of thousands of ticket buyers. We are well under way with the preview edition of our ThreeWeeks magazine, but there are still some last-minute ad slots available, including a couple of display boxes at £99 and a half page for £200. Remember, this goes through the letterboxes of 10,000+ Edinburgh homes, and is available from all the venues as they open at the end of the month. 02: Make sure we know about your show. Full details of how we plan our coverage of the Festival is online and you should give it a quick read. Though to cut a long story short, make sure you email your press pack to TWedinburgh@threeweeks.co.uk, and give us the basic info about your show on this form here (especially if you are not in the Fringe programme).
03: Tell all your friends to sign up for all the ThreeWeeks action! Just as the Festival is massive, our coverage is pretty mega too, and the easiest way to navigate our news, features and reviews - which in turn help you to navigate the Festival - is to sign up to our ThreeWeeks Daily email. SUSAN CALMAN: THE LADY LIKE FRINGE
Her neighbours may call her "the mad cat lady", but round here Susan Calman is a ThreeWeeks favourite, back at the Fringe this year with a brand new show to share. And a 'confession' as well if the blurb to 'Lady Like' is to be believed. PACKED LINED UP CONFIRMED FOR THIS YEAR'S WAVERLEY CARE GALA
Ah, the Edinburgh Fringe Comedy Gala in aid of Waverley Care.
It's always a packed night of top stand-up, even if the time I attended, at the end of a very long ThreeWeeks day, I may have dozed off during a weirdly booked dance act, only to be jolted into consciousness by a ranting Jerry Sadowitz. But, that aside, what I do remember is just quite how many top comedy names they managed to squeeze into one bill, you half expected Norris McWhirter to walk on stage to declare that some kind of record had been broken.
And this year's Gala, on 19 Aug, will repeat that feat, with the Off The Kerb organised event featuring no less than Andrew Lawrence, Cardinal Burns, Romesh Ranganathan, Ivo Graham, Suzi Ruffell, Henry Paker, Angela Barnes, Marlon Davis, Shappi Khorsandi, Andrew Ryan, Des Bishop, Des Clarke, Mark Watson, James Acaster, Lucy Beaumont, Nish Kumar, Lloyd Langford, The Noise Next Door and Ed Gamble.
It's all lovingly hosted by Kevin Bridges and Seann Walsh, and raises valuable funds for a very excellent cause, Scotland's leading charity in providing care and support to people living with HIV or Hepatitis C.
Says Waverley Care CEO Grant Sugden: "We continue to be immensely grateful to all the comedians who take part in the Comedy Gala and to everyone at Off the Kerb. Over the years, these events have raised a phenomenal £320,000, a sum which has enabled us to make a profound and lasting impact on the lives of many people who are living with HIV or Hepatitis C".

3 TO SEE: SHOWS FOR MUSIC LOVING KIDS
ThreeWeeks Co-Editor Caro Moses begins her highly anticipated (surely!) series of 3 To See tips for Festival 2014 with some music-tastic shows for your children.
Monski Mouse's Baby Disco Dance Hall
I suppose you really need children who like to dance as well as listen to music for this one. But then, that may as yet turn out to be the real theme of this set of 3s To See. So I should probably have called it 'Shows For Music And Dance Loving Kids', but it's just too late for that now. Anyway, Monski Mouse has been coming to the Fringe for a few years now, and delighting the under-fives and their parents with her electic disco mix of everything from nursery rhymes and eighties classics to Latin, pop and swing. We loved it when we saw it back in 2012.

Ali McGregor's Jazzamatazz
Highly talented ThreeWeeks Award winning cabaret star and general all round Fringe favourite Ali McGregor is back this year with her acclaimed grown up show Late Night Variety Nite Night, but more importantly for the purposes of this preview piece about children's shows, she's also doing another run of Jazzmatazz, her fab kids' show, for children aged 1+. Perhaps it's being a parent herself that's made her so good at knowing how to entertain children, or perhaps she's just totally ace. Probably the latter. Enjoy. Oh, and more dancing here too.

Ready Steady Ceilidh! (pictured)
And now to even more dancing, with added music, and this time of the Scottish kind, as is highly appropriate, given that this Festival happens in Scotland. 'Ready Steady Ceilidh' is the offspring of the adult-orientated (on at 11pm) 'This Is Ceilidh', and will be hosted by comedian/CBBC star Iain Stirling, who will presumably add lots of humour to the dance and music compote. One for the highly energetic 6+ year old in your life.
